Well hello there!

I'm Chad Parnin — a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer based in the Tampa Bay area, specializing in application security, penetration testing, and cloud security.

With 10+ years of experience across the Intelligence Community, DoD, state government, and the private sector, I’ve worked alongside software engineers to secure systems that matter. I focus on building practical, drama-free security programs that help teams ship confidently and securely.

At ImagineX, I lead AppSec initiatives, moderate our DevSecOps Guild, and create developer-friendly security content. I've built AppSec programs for both a regional bank and a national foodservice supply firm — defining strategy, building processes and tooling, and training engineering teams. I also launched an open-source, AI-powered AppSec scanner to support internal collaboration.

I hold a Master’s in Cybersecurity Technology, a B.S. in Computer Science from Indiana University, and certifications including GPEN, GCIH, CEH, Security+, and ITIL.

Outside of work, you’ll find me on the golf course, playing chess, exercising, cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning, or spending time with family.
